About this Event
5G is predicted to have a huge impact on the way culture is made and shared, locally and internationally, face-to-face and virtually. Reduced latency, increased reliability and the ability to connect with many more people simultaneously opens up the possibility of new digital and hybrid digital/physical experiences.
This creates potential for new collaborations between makers and producers across theatre, performing arts, festivals, games and digital media.
5G:XR is an international collaborative research project that aims to find out more about the possibilities for cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural collaboration.
If you are a maker, producer or academic working in performing arts, games design and everything in-between then come and join us for an afternoon of inspiring conversation and discussion about what can be learned from performing arts/ festival practice and games design for the hybrid XR experiences of the future.
Once you have signed up for a space on the workshop, you will be sent a link to a series of provocations and presentations so that you can watch these in your own time before the workshop session.
